An Overview of HP Proliant

8jun 2018
Regardless of the size or industry of your business, you likely have IT needs. HP servers come in a variety of setups and models which can meet your needs.

All businesses have IT needs, but some businesses have needs that are more specific than others. Furthermore, the industry of your business dictates how much IT specialization that you need. Whereas in some industries a fairly simple server will do, in industries that are software or tech-based, a much more powerful IT setup is required.  The HP server Proliant has become somewhat of an industry standard, regardless of your industry. Here is a breakdown of several models and setups, and what their best features are.

Modular Line

A modular line is one of many setups for an IT server. It’s main advantage is that it can enable the maximum amount of expandability, which is great for companies that are projected to need more IT services in a short amount of time. It is tower-based, meaning that it takes up more space, but can still offer many benefits in the long run.

Density Line

For operations that need a large amount of IT power, the density line is often the best bet. It’s a rack-based system which allows for the greatest amount of computing power to be achieved.

Blade Line

The Blade line is designed to take up the least amount of physical space. If your organization is cramped into a small building, the blade line is your best bet to achieve the maximum amount of computing power while easily fitting into a small room.

HP Proliant 1U and 2U

The HP Proliant 1U model and the 2U model are rackmount servers, meaning that they’re a density line. Therefore, they allow the absolute most amount of computing power, and are ideal for visualization hosts, visualization clusters, web servers, and much more.

HP Proliant 4U

The 4U unit is the most powerful of all. It is also a rackmount server, and achieves all of the same benefits of the others, but with the most power. It’s more costly, so it’s ideal only for the businesses that need a server that is more powerful than average.

Tower Services

HP offers many tower servers which are blade line, and therefore take up the least amount of space. Whereas the power might be slightly lower, this may be irrelevant to a business that is occupying a small space to begin with.

The HP server Proliant has many models and setups that can benefit any organization regardless of their industry, and meet all your IT needs easily.
